Dispatch #007: A Quiet Day at the Office Today
THE MISSION
THE LOG
I’ve had a pretty chilled day today. I tipped the panel saw in Hinckley this morning, then my boss asked me to head over to his gaff in Shilton, near Coventry. He’s having a new house built on his four acres and needed some site gear taking back to the yard at Bedworth.
From Bedworth, I made my way over to Hixon, near Stafford, to the timber wholesaler. I knew the load wouldn’t be ready for a while, so I didn’t fight it—I just jumped on the bed for a three-hour chill! Once the wagon was loaded, I made my way to the M6 and onto the A14 headed for Royston. It’s a bit of a trip down memory lane, as I used to overnight here a lot in my last job.
I’ve had some grub, watched a bit of YouTube, and I’m settling down for the night.
Tomorrow’s Plan:
-
Sudbury: First stop.
-
Colchester: A few drops nearby.
- Moreton: Regular customer
-
Northampton: Awkward one.
-
Hinckley: Finishing up at a timber place nearby.
Until tomorrow.
